People (including me) sometimes refuse to take risks for fear of regret. But I've never regretted any risk I've taken in my life. Think about the biggest risks you've taken. How many of them do you honestly wish you'd never gone for? When trying to decide whether or not to take a risk, I don't think fear of regret should play as big a part of the discussion as it usually does.
Incidentally, I suspect that for most people, sin is the biggest source of regret in life, maybe followed by missed opportunities.
